Being a constant complainer could be costing you a fortune.

Posted by Aaron Walker on Mar 28, 2019 3:40:00 AM

You know, every time my grandkids come to the house and spend the night, we get up the next morning we eat breakfast and we go around the table and I ask them "What are you grateful for today? What is something good in your life?" And they have the cutest little comments. Things that they're so excited about. When we start the mastermind group meetings every single day first thing we talk about our wins. Every Monday morning 9 o'clock, our whole team meets virtually on Zoom, first thing we do is give us your wins. Where are you killing it? Where are you crushing it? It helps develop our attitude every morning.

I got a message this morning for a few you. There's not many in this community that do this, I know, I'm not talking to the majority of you but I am talking to a few of you. Man, we got some complainers in the world. We got some people that are unhappy, ungrateful, unthankful, that are always looking for something to complain about. Well, let me tell you the reason I titled this "Being a constant complainer could be costing you a fortune" - nobody wants to be around you!

I'm just being honest with you. There's private conversations going on right now behind your back, with your friends that go like "We are not going to invite him to the party, he's not going to be on the board of directors, there's no way I would ever invite that guy to be a part of our business or to be on our team" because you gripe non-stop you're always complaining about something.

No one is following you because you have no vision

Posted by Aaron Walker on Mar 26, 2019 9:00:00 AM

I titled this no one is following you because you don't have a vision. Let me tell you what I mean by that. Man, years ago a guy shared with me, he said, '"Hey, where there is no vision the people perish." I know that's a biblical reference but it applies to us today in our lives. I want to encourage you guys to write down your vision. Draw a map. I know it may seem foreign to you but nobody's gonna follow you in your family if they don't know where they're going. You couldn't get to Stephenville Texas right now from Nashville Tennessee without a road map.

I need to let this person go but I don’t know how

Hey, I want to talk to you about something difficult. Some of you need to fire somebody! And I mean, you need to do it today! This is about taking personal responsibility. Well some of the people that work for you, in your organization, are not taking personal responsibility and it's time they are leaving! It is time to fire time, it is time doing them a favor, as well as you and everybody else in your organization. And I want to tell you, it is not easy!

How to be a connector

Posted by Aaron Walker on Mar 14, 2019 9:00:00 AM

I cannot emphasize this enough but it is so important to be the "connector". I have come to learn this years and years ago, probably decades ago now, that it has paid the most dividends in my professional career as well as personally ..... how to be a connector. To be a connector, you simply connect people that need to know each other on a daily basis. I mean, literally, on a daily basis. Such practice or habit has its value/importance. It is so important to get an introduction to the other person or vice-versa. It cuts to about 90% of the bureaucracy, the red tape, if you will, by introducing someone to somebody because they assume that they have already been vetted - they know that they are a good person.

It’s more important who you are partnering with than what you’re doing

Have you ever noticed in pro sports or even college sports people how they win all the time? Do you know why they win all the time? They know how to recruit. They're the best recruiters on the planet. Those guys know how to pick the team. Why do we think it's any differently in our businesses? We go out and we get the cheapest person. You're like, "Hey, come on you're $12 an hour, we'll take you. You're $8 an hour. You're $20 an hour. You're $50 an hour." Whatever it is that you think is cheap, for whatever that you're having them to do, you pick that person rather than their passion, rather than their heart. You need to pick the right person. You need to go after the talent. The ones that have heart.
