The Obstacle Is The Way

Posted by Aaron Walker on Apr 2, 2021 9:00:00 AM

Hey guys! What is getting in your way today from your success? What is it that's holding you back this morning? Is it resources? Is it people? Is it incentive? Is it drive? Is it fear? What is holding you back from being successful at what you're trying to accomplish? We've got to look at an obstacle from a different perspective. Like, I had a guy recently call me. He had a business idea and it was amazing and he said, "I only got one problem." He said, "I don't have any money." I said, "Well let's talk through that. So we did. He came back a few weeks later and he said, "'ve got a guy that's willing to give me the money but he wants 40% of the deal. I'm not going to do that!" I said, "So you'd rather have a 100% of nothing than a 60% of something?" And he "Well, you got a good point." We need to be thinking outside the box, persistent, committed, and consistent. Obstacle is the way sometimes.

What Do I Need To Do To Feel Better About Myself?

Posted by Aaron Walker on Mar 26, 2021 9:15:00 AM

I learned yesterday that Google has a technology that could give you up to 1000 mbps upload and download speed. I got 21 mbps in my computer the past 20 plus years and I made it okay. Isn't that fast enough? I started thinking how that relates to our life. We always want bigger, faster better and shinier without even knowing how to use the simple things that we got.

It's the same way in business, we think if we just get over there, then we will be happy. If we just get this, then it will be better.

I want to encourage you not to compare yourself all the time. I do it too, I am guilty. I don't have it all figure out. But I know after almost 40 years of business, I can tell you that we need to learn to be content with who God created us to be. There's always somebody that can do it better, got it bigger, can earn more money, got a better book, got a better website, got a faster upload and download speed! There's always somebody! And if you get into that trap, you will be miserable living your life!

What you got to do is say "Hey I am learning to be content but not complacent!" I think that's what we need to do. Learn to be content at where you are right now. Enjoy the things!

Why do you want to speed up, to be faster, get more, get bigger? When are you going to enjoy? Today! When are you going to enjoy those kids? Today! When are you going to enjoy your spouse's company? Today! It's always later, it's always I will be happy when, with a little more money, with a little more time. Guys, you have to enjoy the day! You need to stop comparing yourself to others! You are enough! What you have today is enough for today. Take your time! Go out! Find your own Station Camp Greenway to hang out on, to meditate, to listen, to praise and worship! Whatever it is, enjoy it!

Stop thinking you got to do it like that guy! Got to be bigger, better, always trying to strive to get just a little more but you fail to see the beautiful sunshine, the good things around you.

I want you to learn to enjoy your life, today! Strive to do things better but learn not to compare yourself to other people. I have to remind myself of that daily. I promise you, if you do that, you will enjoy today much better. Stop wishing for I will be happy when and then. Okay? Listen, enjoy today. Strive to do better but not compare!

Expect Nothing From Anyone And You will Cever Be Disappointed

Posted by Aaron Walker on Feb 24, 2021 9:00:00 AM

Is it even possible to expect nothing from others just to get not disappointed? But I do want to tell you this. It has played out well in life over the years. We really have unmet expectations that causes huge disappointments in our lives. "Expect nothing from anyone and you will never be disappointed" is thru. You know why? We do not know people's situation. Even family members. We really do not know the road that they are going thru. We do not know the whole story. We do not know their history. We do not know the whole perspective..

What we should do is be focusing on what we are responsible of doing - the things that we should be doing.

Daddy, Can We Play?

Posted by Aaron Walker on Feb 8, 2021 9:00:00 AM

Great habits and good company have a way of turning times like this from tragedy to triumph.

While I was working on the new personal assessment that I'm putting together for our community. When I was reading through the family section, it kind of touched me, my own heart. I started thinking about my own family, and my daughters and my grandkids.

Guys, listen, I want you to lean in. Family is the most important dynamic of what we deal with each and everyday. I am all fired up about making money. I love to make money. I never want to take away from making more money today. Don't hear me wrong. I'm not saying making money's wrong. I want you to go make all the money that you can. Absolutely. What I don't want you to do is do it at the expense of your family.
And what's difficult for some of you guys to hear right now is you're young, you've got a lot of financial obligations and responsibilities ahead of you. I know you're torn. I get it man. Listen, believe me, for 40 years I've been getting that. I understand it. But some of you guys are doing this success thing at the expense of your children.

Anybody can be a father but it takes a real man to be a daddy. I want you to build those boundaries. And be careful. When you come home at night and your little Billy or Susie says, "Daddy can we play?" Man shut those electronics off and go out in the yard and play with those kids. They never ever will ask you "Hey Daddy, how much money did you make today?" They don't care. What they want is your time and listen. Spend the time with them. Don't cheat them out of the most important part of your day.
Don't come home exhausted. Man up and go out there an play with those kids. And I promise you the returns on that time invested will be invaluable.

Don't waste your whole life coming home one day with a pocketful of money to a house full of strangers.
When you get old like me, fat and bald headed, you can look back and not have regrets.

Again, make all the money you can but man when those kids come up to you and say "Daddy can we go out and play?" Just answer "Yes, I'm on my way!"
