The Obstacle Is The Way

Posted by Aaron Walker on Jan 31, 2019 9:00:00 AM

Hey guys!  What is getting in your way today from your success? What is it that's holding you back this morning?  Is it resources?  Is it people? Is it incentive?  Is it drive?  Is it fear? What is holding you back from being successful at what you're trying to accomplish? We've got to look at an obstacle from a different perspective. Like, I had a guy recently call me.  He had a business idea and it was amazing and he said, "I only got one problem." He said,  "I don't have any money."  I said, "Well let's talk through that. So we did.  He came back a few weeks later and he said, "'ve got a guy that's willing to give me the money but he wants 40% of the deal.  I'm not going to do that!" I said, "So you'd rather have a 100% of nothing than a 60% of something?" And he "Well, you got a good point."  We need to be thinking outside the box, persistent, committed, and consistent.  Obstacle is the way sometimes.

If It Truly Is Important You Will Find A Way

I want to tell you something. I hear guys every single day because I coach, talk about the things that they do for six weeks or 90 days and it's not working and they abandoned. I met an an old lady the other day in the YMCA. As I observe her, she kept going back and forth. I don't know how old she was and I waited until she got finished and then I went up to her and I said, "Man! You are so inspirational to me and I want to talk to you for a minute?" She said, "I can't hear you that well speak up." So started speaking up to her and she was just a sweetest old lady I've ever seen in my life and I said, "How long have you been exercising?" She said, "I exercise six days a week." I said, "Man, that is amazing you've been doing that very long as she says every day for 17 years. It was so inspirational to me since she said that and I said, Man, I hope when I'm your age I'm able to do the same thing!" She said, "You don't want to know how old I am." I said, "Would you tell me", and she said, "I'm 87". This lady does her exercise every single day except Sunday. I thought, that's discipline! Where are we missing it in regards to our business career not implementing some strategies like the senior adult lady does at 87 years old. Six days a week she goes to the YMCA and works out! I'll tell you looking at her I think she's a better shape than I am and the reason is because she's disciplined! We can't let things get in the way. We can't let obstacles get in the way. I want to encourage you guys to be disciplined. If it's important, you'll do it!

Take a second and give yourself a check up

Hey, there's a few good men out there. I want to tell you a reason I'm saying that. My family gets onto me a lot of times, they'll say, "Man you hammer these guys you're always saying what they don't do. You need to reach out sometimes and say the good things that they do." And it made me feel about that tall. I said, "Man, you're right you know." I do these guys pretty hot and heavy sometimes but I want to tell you something we've got some of the most outstanding men on the planet in Iron Sharpens Iron Mastermind Group. Now I got to confess a couple of things to you though in regards to telling you how happy I am and excited about the good job that they do. I planned an event coming up pretty soon and there was a number of guys that I invited to this event and one of the guys that I knew were going to be there. I mean it was no question he needed to be there and I needed him to be there. He turned me down bigger than Dallas! He's like, "I can't make it." And I'm like, "Well what is the deal? Where are you gonna be?" And he said, "Well my 17 year old daughter graduates from high school this yea. She's gonna be going off to college and she's got an event at school and parents are asked to be there. And I don't want to miss it." And I'm like, "Are you kidding me? I mean this is a big deal event!" And he's like, "Hey, let me tell you something. This is a big deal. This is my daughter." And then I started thinking about I sai. You know, he's doing exactly what I've been teaching all these years. He's excited me after I got mad! It excited me to think that he would stand up and honor his daughter more so than a business transaction!

What Do I Do Once I've Made A Mistake

Posted by Aaron Walker on Jan 23, 2019 9:00:00 AM

Do not be afraid of doing something new.  If it doesn't work out right well okay, you can say, "Hey, I tried!" If it didn't work, pivot change.  Do something else but do not be afraid that it's going to fail.  Do not think what other people will say or how they are going to view you. Do not allow any fear to keep you in a place - a place that you're not going to experience the life that you want.  It's okay to make a mistake.  Failure is in not trying not in not succeeding.   Shift your mindset! Go out there and go for it.  I want to encourage you today to stop being afraid.  Pull the trigger!  Do something, try something, do it methodically, don't think you have to do it all at one time right.  If you're in a spot that you don't enjoy, transition slowly.  Get accountability, get people around you that can help you.  Incrementally implement a process and a system and a plan that you can work your way out of where you're at.
