I have just discovered over the past couple of months that there's one area that we have not fully covered in our mastermind group - we are about to spend 2 months diving deep into. John Gottman wrote a great book, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country's Foremost Relationship Expert. Our Iron Sharpens Iron Mastermind group is going to spend June and July 2019 breaking down that book and understand the principles in it that can make our marriage great.

Affirmation, it does not come naturally with us men. But I'd like you to tell you that it is probably that changed my life as much as anything. I am just going to tell you, guys, we just do not do it enough. It is uncomfortable at first, doing public affirmation. However, the reason it is so valuable, whether we admit it or not, we need affirmation. We are all starving to death for affirmation from those who are close to us. Start now in affirming someone! If you are not sure where or how to start, start it in your family.

Failure is not trying, not in not succeeding. It would be way better to go out there and try it even if it does not work than us just sitting in the couch and not trying anything at all. There will be some excuses for us not to try and do the things we are planning to do - like we are busy. But we are always going to be busy. There will be no time in our life, in your career, that you are not busy! Let's stop putting things off, we have got to do it!

We cannot hold people captive. We cannot do it in our relationships. Let go of the transgressions.
As what it is stated in Ephesians 4:31-32 31
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
So as with Psalm 103:12
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
