Do You Hope to Just Wake Up Smarter Tomorrow?

Do_You_Hope_to_Just_Wake_Up__Tomorrow-

How much effort do you put into being a smarter individual? I tease clients all the time and I say, “You are not just going to wake up tomorrow smarter”. I usually get blank stares or the inevitable “I just don’t have the time."

I’m like seriously? What that tells me is you are not making progress a priority.

Listen, if it’s really important to you, you will make the time. Go ahead, privately, be honest with yourself, admit what I am saying is true.

We make the time to do what is important.

A friend of mine told me a story about how he wanted to see grandma, time just didn’t permit. The truth is, grandma was way down the list.

This is how I feel about expanding our mind

...learning and growing as a competent individual. In order to be the best at anything you must put your 10,000 hours in. We have to work diligently exploring, reading, and more importantly listening. I watch Tedtalks, YouTube, and listen to a host of podcast on a daily basis.

My monthly book expense looks like a car note

Let’s face it, learning is very time consuming and can be expensive, but it is so worth it. I used to tell my girls that the only difference between poverty and success is that successful people know something you don’t.

We can’t just be around smart people and expect it to rub off on us. Please take the time to discover what you enjoy and go a mile deep into it. Stop trying to do all the nonessentials. Quit trying to be the master of 15 different things and try to become proficient in a couple. You want to make a lot of money? Become the expert.

Provide more value than you charge for and help others solve their problems and people will line up to hand you money.

Get busy, get a book!!!
