Is there ever a right time to lie?
- Is the absence of all the facts a lie?
- If you neglect to speak to an inaccuracy are you lying?
lie - noun
a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.
an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood.
- “Of course Santa Clause is real.”
- “Look what the tooth fairy left you.”
- “Don’t cheat! the Boogie Man will get you.”
These all seem pretty harmless and childlike but are they?
An Amish man told me sometime ago they never talk about Santa, tooth fairy, etc because all these characters are invisible. So, when it’s time to reveal God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit how can the children distinguish the difference?
Good Christian Lies?
What about posing as a sports team in China when our true intent is spreading the gospel? What about shipping bibles to a country that forbids it? What about paying off the officials at Customs to import cars? What about posing as an engineer in a communist country while secretly preaching to underground churches?
Is there ever a time to lie? I would love to have your input. Hey, tell me the truth, don’t lie!
