How many times in your life have you said, “If I could only get motivated”?
- What does that mean?
- Why do you want to be motivated?
- How long does motivation last?
I don’t believe motivation is what you need:
The discovery of the ‘why’ is a much more powerful tool than motivation.
When your “why” gets important enough you will change your behavior. When your “why” is important enough you will find reason to improve, repair, eliminate, or replace.
Once your why is strong enough, make a one-time commitment and implement a strategy to make change(s) and achieve your goal(s). In other words, create a plan. If you are committed to make more money, lose those unwanted pounds, or grow your business then a carefully crafted plan will guide you to success. You do not need to make decisions daily, weekly, or monthly. All you have to do is implement your plan one step at a time. Remember, you made the commitment.
Motivation is elusive. When you’re struggling or searching for stimulation, make a commitment and follow a plan.
